Intent
Our History curriculum intends to develop students ability to use key historical concepts for the benefit of their learning. These include: Causation, Interpretation, Historical Enquiry, Significance, Consequences, Inference, Similarities and Difference.
We want to help them to form a social, moral, cultural and intellectual understanding of the past and to stimulate curiosity and passion about people and events, which have helped shape the world we live in.
For students to discuss subject content/concepts, both in groups and as a class. This should NOT just be a recall of factual information, but students should, in time, be able to form their own judgements and opinions about a particular event.
Ultimately our aim is to help students to progress into mature and responsible individuals, who are capable of entering future education or a work environment.
