Appealing your Secondary School offer
If you have been refused a place at a school named on your most recent school admission application, you have the legal right to appeal against the decision. Our appeals process is fully compliant with the Department for Education Schools Appeals Code.
Appeals for LHA for 2025/26 must be submitted on the LHA Appeal form which must be collected from reception and returned to the Academy. Any previous paper forms or E-forms will not be accepted.
You can only appeal for a place at a school where you have expressed a preference and been refused a place. You cannot appeal for a school you have not made an application for or the application has been withdrawn.
An appeals officer will be in touch with you before the hearing date and will provide full details of the appeals hearing process and schedule.
The following dates are subject to change. Days could be added to or cancelled depending on the volume of appeals lodged and panel/clerk availability.

In Year Admission

Your application will be processed and ranked in accordance with the admissions criteria.
If your In-Year application is unsuccessful you will be advised of the reasons the academy is unable to offer a place and your details will be retained for the remainder of that academic year in case a place becomes available.
Where a place cannot be secured, parents have a legal right of appeal. Please contact the Academy for an In Year Appeal Form.
The appeal will be processed in the same way as any other appeal and presented to an independent appeal panel at Lancashire County Council appeals in accordance with the Department for Education Schools Appeals.
