We're delighted to welcome our new Parents, Carers, and Students
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to Lostock Hall Academy at the start of this exciting new journey. Transitioning to secondary school is a significant milestone, and we are delighted that you have chosen to be part of our Academy family.
We recognise that this move brings a mixture of excitement and perhaps a few nerves, but rest assured—we are here to support every step of the way. Our staff are dedicated to ensuring a smooth and enriching transition for all students, helping them settle into school life with confidence.
We are thrilled to invite both you and your child to our Transition Day on Thursday, 3rd July. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to experience a typical school day, meet their Form Tutor, connect with peers, and begin familiarising themselves with their new learning environment. After school, we warmly welcome parents and carers to join us for an information session where you will meet key staff, including Mrs Abram (Lead Year 7 Tutor), your child’s new Form Tutor, and other supportive members of our team. This session will provide everything you need to feel fully prepared for September, while addressing any questions or concerns you may have.
At Lostock Hall Academy, we take great pride in fostering a nurturing and ambitious atmosphere, ensuring that every student feels valued and supported. Our staff go above and beyond to create an environment where young people can thrive academically and personally, and we are committed to working alongside families to make this transition as seamless as possible.
We look forward to seeing you soon and encourage you to read the information provided carefully. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you require further support - Mrs Abram can be contacted via email at n.abram@lostockhallacademy.org.

A message from Year 7 Lead - Mrs Abram
I am delighted that you will be joining us here at Lostock Hall Academy from September 2025. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Academy. My name is Mrs Abram and I am the Transition and Year 7 Lead. I oversee the transition process from Year 6 to Year 7 to ensure it is as smooth as possible. I will also work closely with you when you join us in September, supporting you as you settle into life here at Lostock Hall Academy.
I will be working with the wider transition team and your primary school to ensure that we have as much information as possible before you start in September. Your Year 6 teacher helps me to understand what works for you in the classroom and plan for any extra help you might need when you join us. Once I have collected all of this important academic and pastoral information, I will pass it on to your Year 7 form tutor and teachers, who will help make sure you settle in quickly. Here at the Academy, we have lots of specialist teachers who are passionate about their subjects and they, along with your form tutor, cannot wait to meet you.
Starting secondary school is a big step in your education journey, but don’t worry, as I and all the staff here at Lostock Hall Academy will be there to help you at every point along the way. In addition to my pastoral role, I also teach Food Preparation and Nutrition and French. This means once your transition into Year 7 is complete, I will still be part of your journey here at Lostock Hall Academy.
As part of your transition into secondary school, you are invited to spend the day with us on Thursday 3rd July. This is our Trasition Day, where you will have the opportunity to meet your form tutor and some of our specialist teachers. You will also meet the other Year 6 students who will be joining us in September.
Please make sure you read all of the transition information carefully, and do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions. I will look forward to meeting you all on Thursday 3rd July and I look forward to getting to know you all in September.
