Friends of the Academy

As Lostock Hall Academy celebrates its Diamond Jubilee, we are proud to recognise the vital role that the Friends of the Academy (FOTA) play in supporting our school community. For sixty years, the Academy has been at the heart of its community, educating and inspiring the future with FOTA's support. FOTA continues a tradition of bringing together families, staff, former students, alumni, governors and local partners to strengthen the connections that make our Academy such a special place.  

The Friends of the Academy is a dedicated group of parents, carers and supporters who generously volunteer their time to organise events and activities throughout the school year. Through social events, celebrations and fundraising initiatives, FOTA helps foster a strong sense of belonging and partnership across the Academy community. 

Everyone connected with Lostock Hall Academy is considered a Friend of the Academy, including current and former parents, students, staff, governors, alumni and members of the local community. Together, we share a common purpose: supporting young people to thrive, achieve their potential and build successful futures.  

Our aims 

The Friends of the Academy seeks to: 

  • Strengthen relationships across the Academy community by promoting cooperation, communication and mutual support between students, families, staff, alumni and local partners. 

  • Help all members of our community feel welcome and connected, particularly those who are new to Lostock Hall Academy. 

  • Organise enjoyable events and activities that bring people together while celebrating Academy life. 

  • Raise funds that enhance students' educational experiences through the provision of additional resources, equipment and opportunities. 

  • Support the Academy's vision of inspiring aspirations for all by helping create an environment in which every young person can flourish academically, socially and personally.  

As we celebrate our Diamond Jubilee year, we warmly welcome new volunteers and supporters to join FOTA and help continue the tradition of community spirit that has shaped Lostock Hall Academy for generations. By working together, we can continue to enrich the lives of our students and ensure that our Academy remains a place where aspirations are nurtured and futures are shaped.
