At Lostock Hall Academy, our strong pastoral care system fosters exceptional relationships and creates an environment in which all students can thrive, both academically and personally. We are committed to ensuring that every student feels valued, supported and inspired to achieve their full potential.
Every student belongs to one of our six Houses: Ribble, Yarrow, Calder, Hodder, Douglas or Wyre. Our House system promotes a strong sense of identity and belonging while providing a wealth of opportunities for students from different year groups to work together, build friendships and support one another.
Students benefit from dedicated time with their form tutor each day. The relationship between tutor and tutee is an important part of Academy life, providing guidance, encouragement and support throughout a student's journey. Through our Ready to Thrive programme, form tutors help students develop a deep understanding of our core values, build self-regulation skills and take a proactive approach to their wellbeing and personal development.
At times, some students may require additional pastoral support. Our experienced Behaviour for Learning Team is highly skilled in identifying needs at an early stage and implementing appropriate support and interventions. As trained Thrive Practitioners, team members use their professional expertise to help students develop emotional resilience, confidence and self-regulation skills.
The team also has extensive experience in multi-agency working, collaborating closely with families and external professionals to ensure that every young person receives the support they need to enjoy the very best educational experiences and outcomes.
Should you feel that your family requires support, please do not hesitate to contact the relevant personnel through our Synergy communication system.
