Intent
The Spanish curriculum fosters students' knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the Spanish language and the diverse cultures of the Spanish-speaking world. It inspires curiosity, broadens horizons and encourages students to explore the wider world with confidence, developing their awareness as global citizens.
Through a fully inclusive curriculum, all students are provided with opportunities to develop their linguistic competence across the four key language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Implementation
The Spanish curriculum is carefully sequenced to ensure that all students can access, engage with and succeed in language learning. Learning builds progressively from core vocabulary and phonics to increasingly complex grammatical structures and authentic communication, enabling students to develop confidence, fluency and independence over time.
Lessons are designed to be inclusive, supportive and aspirational. Students leave Lostock Hall Academy with a strong foundation in Spanish and the skills required to continue their language-learning journey with confidence.
