75 Year 7 students had a fantastic time visiting Yorkshire Sculpture Park on Tuesday 9th June. They engaged enthusiastically, interacting with the artworks, exploring the grounds, and enjoying the beautiful sights. The students had the opportunity to appreciate art in the park setting, sketch the sculptures on display and the landscape surroundings.

The students were a pleasure to guide around the park, covering a lot of ground and ending the visit with a well-deserved sweet treat.

We have encouraged our Y7 creatives to take participate in a landscape photography competition and best work booklet of the day.

This visit supports the Art Landscape learning journey and students have been studying and investigating a range of artists using a range of media and techniques. They have focused on developing their landscape drawing skills and finally, creating a clay artwork.

YSP is an open-air gallery in West Yorkshire, featuring a wide range of contemporary sculptures set against the picturesque landscape.
