Pathways to Success

Because each of our students is an individual, we understand that each have their own particular needs, talents and aptitudes. At LHA, we have developed a culture and structure that supports individuals in a happy and safe environment in which to learn and grow.

This care and support is integral to our ethos and visitors to the school often comment on our happy and caring environment, praising the level and quality of the support for students’ safety and well-being.

Because each child is different, we know that students may require additional support with areas of the curriculum and with literacy and numeracy development. Our learning support staff monitor progress and provide intervention when appropriate, keeping parents and carers informed.

Consultation and reporting to parents is then achieved through regular parents evenings where academic progress, behaviour, attendance and wider personal issues are discussed.

Careers guidance

Our commitment to providing pathways to future success and our strong links with colleges and with the business community mean that we take this aspect seriously and all students receive advice and guidance from an independent careers advisor. Students attend FE College and training provider visits and Careers Fair. At key transition points we hold guidance and information evenings for parents, carers and students.
