KS4 Religious Education

Subject aims/course

Education In Year 10, students will consider religious and ethical issues through an interactive and challenging Faith Day.

Year 11 students follow the OCR GCSE Religious Studies Philosophy and Applied Ethics. This course offers the students the opportunity to study a broad range of philosophical and ethical issues from a Christian context. Students also explore the outlook of other faith groups and non-religious views in relation to the topics. Short Course students study four Ethics and Philosophy units. Long Course students complete four units.

  • Religion and Medical Ethics
  • Religion and Human Relationships
  • Religion and Equality
  • Religion, Peace and Justice

Philosophy units:

  • Beliefs about Deity
  • Beliefs about the End of Life
  • Good and Evil
  • Religion and Science
